This was an excellent trip. Our guide Joào was superb, very knowledgeable, funny and engaging. He brought the group together well. The places we visited were all fabulous, especially the Palace and Sintra. We had enough time to enjoy all the stops and a lovely lunch. Highly recommended.

Excellent day trip with a wonderful guide. A good mix of different places to enjoy. Sintra and Pena palace were stunning and our guide Joeo was so knowledgeable and informative. Definitely not a trip if you had mobility issues the walk to Pena palace was very steep and windy although our guide did offer a shuttle option if we had wanted it. I’d recommend going a great day out when on holiday in Lisbon

An unforgettable experience that my mother and I really enjoyed. Ricardo was punctual, friendly, well-organized, and very knowledgeable throughout the day. He knows the history of his country very well and made every stop interesting, from Cascais and Cabo da Roca to the beautiful Pena Palace in Sintra. João was an excellent tour guide. He knew exactly how to make the day enjoyable for everyone. He spoke not only about Lisbon's history and about Portugal's in general, but also about culture, music, language, food, and biological environment. Like that, he made sure to include interesting facts for everyone and he patiently answered all of our questions. The day was perfectly planned for people who prefer guided tours in small groups (there were only six of us) and who also want some time to explore on their own. My friend and I really liked that we had a long lunch break where we could recap the day, away from the group. João still helped us by sending us a list of recommendations of where to eat and giving own recommendations as well. It was our favorite day of our trip to Lisbon, so I would definitely recommend it!

Joao is a walking enciclopedia. He continuously amazed us with his in depth knowledge on Portugal 's history, geography and culture. He is a great ambassador of his country. He kept us entertained the entire journey with interesting facts not only about the sites we visited but also the sites we stopped by during our car journey. Due to knee problems, I need to avoid stairs. At the Pena Palace he kindly sorted the shuttle bus for me and found an elevator for me at the end of the tour which was extremely kind of him. The tour is not rushed . There was enough time for all sites. We had 2 hours to enjoy Sintra and we received very good recommendations for lunch and dessert. Joao is also a highly skilled driver. I felt safe the entire trip. I highly recommend the tour !

Great small group tour, Miguel Câmara Leme our guide did not stop telling us about the history of Portugal and the places we visited. He was very accommodating to our group needs and we met nice couple from Czech and family from Brazil. Who we shared history and culture with.

To be fair, I would have given it a 5 star, but we were unable to go to Pene Palace due to weather. Our guide Miguel was wonderful and rearranged our schedule to allow for more time Sintra, Cabo de Roca and Cascais. He was great at giving us information and history on all the stops. Ricardo je skvelý sprievodca, ma úžasné znalosti z histórie aj súčasnosti Portugalska, je veľmi príjemný a vtipný. Preprava klimatizovaným minibusom bola príjemná a pohodlná, k dispozícii sme mali pitnú vodu. Boli sme malá skupina 7 ľudí. Z dôvodu hro by letných požiarov bol palác Pena neprístupný. Náhradný program bola návšteva Palacio de Queluz.

João is great! Even when the main attraction was closed by fire emergency situation (Pena palace), he made more beautiful and interesting trip. Totally recommend!

Wonderful Sintra and Pena Palace We thought it was an excellent trip. Our guide Simone was very knowledgeable and gave us excellent history of the area. We thoroughly enjoyed all the stops we made and our guide was very helpful in giving us ideas where to eat. The Pena palace was the highlight. Pick up and drop off worked well.

Es war eine wirklich tolle Tour. Wir hatten gedacht, dass wir eine größere Gruppe sind. Es war aber eine private Führung für maximal 5 Personen, die Familie bzw. Freunde sind. Unser Tourguide Miguel war wirklich super. Er ist sehr sympathisch und weiß alles über das Kloster und die anderen Monumente, da er dort aufgewachsen ist und auch eine persönliche Bindung zu der Kirche hat. Man merkt ihm die Liebe zu seinem Job an. Er spricht auch sehr deutliches Englisch, sodass man ihn auch gut versteht, wenn man kein perfektes Englisch kann. Wir mussten vor dem Kloster kurz mit Miguel anstehen, manchmal darf er aber auch die Schlange umgehen. Die Geschichtsinfos waren wirklich sehr interessant und detailreich. Das typische Gebäck Pastel de Belem war sehr lecker. Am Ende sind wir etwas zu der Burg und dem Entdeckerdenkmal gelaufen also sollte man gut zu Fuß sein. Miguel ist als Guide sehr zu empfehlen.

The group was nice, travelling was never easier, we truly had the time of our life. This was my first tour, so I was bit sceptical, but his professionalism convienced me in minutes. Also, we wouldn’t have the chance to see these thing in one day if we have to stick to public transport and the price was very reasonable too.

I was happy to see Cascais, Cabo da Roca, Sintra and Pena Palace without worrying about navigating from point A to B. There was enough time to explore each site, have a coffee, take lunch, and of course - beautiful photos. The timing to Pena Palace was perfectly timed, with entry at the latter end of the slot so there was zero line up. Definitely would have missed out on the history and stories behind these sites if I had explored alone. Thank you!

Zufahrten gesperrt waren wegen eines Marathons usw. Die Größe der Gruppe mit 8 Personen ist optimal. Deshalb eindeutig "Beide Daumen hoch!"

What a great day! Our guide was so knowledgeable of the places and the history of them - he was happy to answer any questions and looked after the group very well throughout the day. As a solo traveller I got to sit at the front so all the couples would be together, for once a perk to being solo! Timings for each stop were great and really I could not fault anything about the experience at all. At one stage we walked past another tour guide who was telling his group things that were not true! If you are interested in history then I highly recommend this tour.

Only feedback: consider a guided tour in Cascais/Sintra for like 15-20 min then allow for free time (free time was so nice but I had to chatGPT a bit). For people who like to travel it’s a must see Sinatra, Pena palace and Cascais. It’s a day long trip from Lisbon but well worth the time and the money. Miguel our guide excellent by keeping us informed with for the entire trip. He also was able to provide answers to all our questions.

I don’t have enough positive things to say about our tour. Aside from the comfortable van the timing of the tour is perfect. You end up about 30 minutes ahead of the crowds and large tour buses. Recommendations for lunch and in Cascais were all great.

We were met on time in a comfortable vehicle, and learnt a huge amount about Portuguese history on both the journey and at each stop of our tour. The highlights for me were Sintra and Pena Palace. He pointed out various restaurants and cafes to try and did a great job describing the history of the city and answering all of our questions. Sinatra and Palace My wife and I had a great guided tour. Our guide, Miguel Câmara Leme, was very pleasant and well versed on Portuguese history and the Sintra history and area. His English was fluent and his presentation clear and excellent. Miguel kept us and 3 other couple engaged throughout the day and our destinations as we traveled. His driving was excellent and very safe. Miguel was very considerate and conscientious of everyone on the tour, learning all our names immediately and engaging and involving us throught the experience.
The tour had us dropped conveniently at 2 different locations to explore with a pick up times for both that gave us enough time to get familiar with what each had to offer. The second stop was the furthest western part of Portugal and Europe. A fantastic view in an ecologically sensitive area.
We finished at the palace where Miguel made sure to point out every detail of importance to the building and history of the site.

Friends We had the best day with Miguel! He picked us up at our Airbnb right on time and we got on the road. He is so personable and a wealth of knowledge! We all loved Caicais! And Cabo Da Roca had beautiful views of the water. Weather was spectacular! We had been disappointed that the. National Tile Museum was closed during our visit, but Miguel taught us so much about tile! And his knowledge of the Pena Palace is second to none. He knows all of the ends and outs. It is a bit of a hike to get up to it and I forgot to bring water with me, but he took us to directly to the cafeteria for bottles of cold water and a few minutes of rest. He provided excellent recommendations for lunch and we spent close to 10 hours together, but it went by quickly and was like spending time with an old friend. Cannot recommend Miguel enough!

Solo John was fantastic. Our tour coincided with a marathon and futbol match that caused road closures, but we made every scheduled stop (even after initially being turned around at Cabo da Roca because the road was closed). John was very knowledgeable and accommodating.

This day trip was an unforgettable experience! It was our favorite day in our entire trip to Portugal. The palace is stunning and unlike anything we had seen. On this trip, you get to stop in 3 places, all with magnificent views, and plenty of time to enjoy pictures, shopping, and a bite to eat! Miguel, our tour guide, is who made this day trip the BEST experience. He has a magical zest for life and is a wealth of knowledge. It felt like you were traveling with a friend all day. Highly recommend!

I am glad we took this tour of Cascais, Cabo, Sintra and Pena Palace. All logistics and Pena Palace entry were taken care of. For example, we didn’t need to wait in the long line for Pena Palace entry. Thanks to our guide Ricardo, we appreciated all those beautiful sights and monuments even more. Ricardo took us through the history of Portugal, explaining each sight by linking it to history and culture. He pointed out significant objects, explaining the symbolism behind them, such as rope shaped columns representing Portugal’s maritime expertise. Ricardo also gave us suggestions for restaurants and Fado bars for the rest of our stay. We all fully recommend this tour.

This was such a great tour experience! Firat was an excellent tour guide - so knowledgeable, warm and friendly, and really helped us get to know Sintra and Cascais. He gave great recommendations and made sure we were comfortable throughout the day! Pena Palace was absolutely a highlight, and totally worth the short walk straight uphill, although we stuck with just the exterior tickets which ended up being perfect. The beaches of Cascais were beautiful as well and we were lucky enough to have some sunshine and drive along the coast on the way back to Lisbon. The timing was excellent throughout the day with enough time at each stop to really enjoy Portugal, and Firat was flexible with any changes that needed to be made throughout the trip. The service all day was top quality, and I will absolutely be looking forward to another Unique Journey tour in the future.

The monastery was gorgeous and well worth the visit. We were happy to have a guided tour which enabled us to skip a huge line for entry. Unfortunately, the church was closed for renovations. The pasteis de Belem were terrific (though we tasted better ones elsewhere) and we were again able to skip a huge line. The monument was terrific but the tower had scaffolding. We took many tours while in Lisbon and found our guide on this tour merely average - not as informative, not as clear and possibly hungover.

An excellent day - Firat (Unique Journeys) was brilliant. The right blend of local knowledge, side stories and helpful advice/tips on what to do during the free time elements of the day. Highly recommended.

Wir haben die Tagestour über Ostern gemacht und waren absolut begeistert. Alles war perfekt organisiert, zeitlich super geplant. Man bekommt genau das, was beschrieben wird. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir unseren Guide Ricardo. Er ist eine Klasse für sich. Unglaublich hilfsbereit, immer gut gelaunt und hat ein außergewöhnliches Fachwissen über die Paläste und die Region. Man merkt sofort, dass er seinen Job liebt. Kleiner Tipp: Regenjacke mitnehmen, das Wetter kann am Schloss schnell umschlagen, auch wenn es gerade noch gut aussieht. Ricardo is een geweldige gids. Zijn kennis over portugal en zijn historie is ongekend groot. Hij verteld ronduit over alles wat je wilt weten. De groep van max 8 personen is heel prettig. Cascais is een schitterend vissersdorp/badplaats. We waren vroeg waardoor veel nog dicht was, maar een kop koffie met pastel de nata in de zon was heerlijk. Cabo is mooi om te zien. Het meest westelijke punt van Europa. Sintra is ook een toeristisch dorp. Het draait om de paleizen. Die zijn heel mooi

Een volle en interessante dag vol weetjes en info. Oppikadres was duidelijk, vertrek héél stipt( zelfs wat vroeger) en Ricardo was zeer enthousiast om ons te entertainen.

We had a wonderful day with three different locations. Enjoyed the beach walk, nice seafood lunch at Nazere. Also really enjoyed walking the narrow streets and the medieval stone walls of Obidos.

The pace of the day was excellent. Our guide, Miguel, had a wealth of knowledge and informed us about many things at certain venues but also in between venues. But he also allowed us to have time to wander and explore by ourselves.

Great tour and fantastic day trip! We loved João & the local insight he provided on the trip! He played local tunes in the car which made us feel like we were better exposed to the culture!
We were satisfied with the length of the visit and felt it was well worth the price.
We really loved the fact that it was small vans and not a large bus. So it felt more intimate and personal, which is what we were looking for!

We had a wonderful guide in Ricardo! He was extremely knowledgeable about the Portuguese history. It was a very comfortable van ride to Cascais, then to Sintra, and finally Pena. It was a nice was to see and visit both Cascais and Sintra, however it was not near enough time to really see much. If you want to visit Sintra and actually have time to see and visit the palaces then this isn’t for you. Overall we enjoyed our time.

The best trip of my life! I don't know what more to say, because there were so many wonderful moments. Miguel, the guide, will remain in our hearts forever. He was very warm, friendly, and cared for the entire group and each individual. He spoke engagingly about the sights and recommended places to eat. He took care of us and our safety. I dare to say the guide also arranged the weather for us, because despite the fog in the morning, beautiful sun appeared around 10:00, right on time! We were on the trip with my now-fiancé, that's how we got engaged btw at Cabo da Roca. This day and trip are memorable not just for the engagement, but for the people, atmosphere , the jokes, the getting-to-know-you, and the experience. I would spend a million times that amount of money to meet Miguel again and again! I highly recommend this one; the itinerary and the execution are perfect for spending the day.

Excursion was delightful. Our guide Joao (sp?) was knowledgeable and his love of his country and Sintra was obvious. The full day tour covered a lot of territory but having the Sintra castle ticket included was a big plus. Highly recommend this tour and company.
