Our Belém Walking Tour and visit to the Jerónimos Monastery was an absolute highlight of our time here, and it was entirely thanks to our phenomenal guide, João Lopes. João is exceptionally knowledgeable about Portuguese history, but what truly sets him apart is his deeply passionate and charismatic storytelling. He didn’t just recite dry facts; he brought the past to life with brilliant energy. He was wonderfully enthusiastic and highly interactive, making a point to engage with every single guest in the group to ensure we were all included and having a great time. Articulate, accommodating, and genuinely warm, João made the complex history of the area both accessible and fascinating. If you are booking this tour, you absolutely must request João. A phenomenal, five-star experience from start to finish!

The monastery was gorgeous and well worth the visit. We were happy to have a guided tour which enabled us to skip a huge line for entry. Unfortunately, the church was closed for renovations. The pasteis de Belem were terrific (though we tasted better ones elsewhere) and we were again able to skip a huge line. The monument was terrific but the tower had scaffolding. We took many tours while in Lisbon and found our guide on this tour merely average - not as informative, not as clear and possibly hungover.

This tour was completely worth it and like with any tour, the guide makes the difference and our guide Renan was incredible! He was so knowledgeable and provided great historic perspective of Portugal in the world landscape at the time of the monasteries construction through to today. We learned so much. Getting to cut the line at the monestary and with the Pastais de Belem is a plus too!

Great well organised tour. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and engaging. He provided us with umbrellas and water to help in the heat. It was ashame the Belem tour is covered in scaffolding but the cloisters were beautiful. Highly recommend the skip the line ticket!

Initially, I thought three hours would be too long. But it was just about perfect. Our guide Mario was very friendly and informative and a pleasure to spend a few hours with learning more about these historical landmarks. Highly recommend and ask for Mario.

Leila gave a very interesting and beautiful tour. It was a lovely tour, especially considering the number of participants (four people), which left plenty of room for questions. We thoroughly enjoyed the knowledge and pleasant atmosphere provided by our guide Leila. Thank you 👍🏻😀

Our tour with Laila was exceptional. Laila has a deep understanding and knowledge of history of Portugal and Lisbon. Her communication skills are unmatched. She is a passionate storyteller and kept us engaged throughout our tour. We felt fortunate to have had her as our guide. When we travel we always get a guide , we have had very good guides before, but Leila was the best guide we ever had.
