Nous avions un excellent, drôle et sympathique guide et chauffeur Joao. Un homme passionné par son travail et qui partage généreusement ses nombreuses connaissances historiques de tous les lieux que nous avons visités. Nous avons beaucoup appris sur Sintra, Cascais, etc. Nous avons visité l’extérieur uniquement du palais à Sintra et c’était vraiment très beau et impressionnant. Suffisamment de temps à chacun des arrêts du parcours (Pena, Cabo et Cascais) pour découvrir de belles choses. Nous recommandons fortement cette activité pour découvrir les alentours de Lisbonne.

Great day trip! We were in a small group of 8 and it was a nice size for this day trip from Lisbon. Jaoa was our guide for the day and he was amazing. So knowledgeable and entertaining! The day flowed seamlessly from an easy pickup to drop off. Definitely a recommend!

Best experience, great locations Very wonderful tour with 3 great stops that you can spend free time in and with the small size of tour make the time a little adjustable. Tour guide was excellent with conversation, told a brief history which was great and then let us explore to make our own adventure. 9 seat van was used. Free water provided and such a nice guide that the experience was well worth extra than using a big bus tour. Do your own lunch was great to be able to pick what you wanted. Church, Beach and Castle with shops at each stop and restaurants at last 2 stops. Great country side views. So much easier than driving or figuring own transportation.

Excellent time! Great balance of structured tour and free time to explore all the stops. The palace was nice but we also enjoyed our time in Cascais, Sintra and Cabo. Our guide was also outstanding! Would definitely recommend.

Thomas was a gem. A very happy, knowledgeable and fun guy to have as a driver. He has a great sense of humour and kept our group entertained for the trip. Small minivan was comfortable. Be prepared to walk uphill a way to get into Pena Palace and take water with you especially in the heat. Sintra old town was a disappointment as it is cafes and souvenir shops displaying things made in China if you look at the tags. Tourist city at its best. We found acquaint little sidewalk cafe with seating only for 8 and the food was great. The bakery has 2 shops in the same alley so if one has a line up go up the alley a little to the second one. We bought the coconut cake and it was amazing.

Sintra and Pena were the highlite of the trip. We had 2 hours to eat in Sintra, which was great, something that I would have done differently myself, I would have skipped lunch and also booked the Initiation Well. I will certainly come back for it in the next few days. Our guide Joao was excellent, had a ton of insights, kept us informed, is a great driver and kept a smooth schedule.

Unser Tourguide João war mehr als perfekt. Er erklärte uns auf verständliche, teilweise amüsante und somit unterhaltsame Weise viel über die Kultur und Geschichte Portugals. Die Besichtigung und Erläuterungen zu Pena waren sehr fokussiert, so dass keine Langeweile entstand. Insgesamt war genügend Zeit für eigene Erkundungen von Sintra, Cascais und Cabo da Roca. Die Restaurant-Empfehlungen für Sintra, die uns João per WhatsApp schickte, waren sehr hilfreich, ebenso einige Erklärungen zur Tour am Tag zuvor. Wir können den Ausflug nur wärmstens empfehlen und danken João sowie dem Veranstalter Unique Journeys für die erlebnisreiche Tour.

Interesting day, guide was very knowledgable. Not sure it was essential to visit Cascais, time could have been used to visit another of the palaces in the area maybe not as busy as Peña. It gave us an insight into the area surrounding Lisbon.

I had a magical day on my Sintra tour with Ricardo and would recommend it to anyone visiting Lisbon. It was my birthday and Ricardo went above and beyond to make me feel special and have a day I will truly always remember. All of the sites from Cascais to Sintra were breathtaking on their own but having Ricardo explain the history and meaning behind everything really gave me a deep appreciation of not only the sites but of Portugal as a whole. He is so knowledgeable, funny, engaging and helpful and also took the time to give me other recommendations for my trip. And as a plus he is also very handsome! 🤭By the end of the day our van of strangers all felt like friends that all shared this special experience. I’m traveling to 5 cities on my trip overall but I know that this will absolutely be the highlight. Everything was timed perfectly and I wouldn’t change anything about how the day went. I would give it 6 out of 5 starts if that was an option.

Pedro was an outstanding guide. He arrived five minutes early, greeted us with genuine friendliness, and clearly knew his history. The van was very comfortable, and the smaller group made the whole day feel more personal. We visited Fátima, Nazaré, Óbidos, and even stopped at a castle along the way, far better than we expected! Pedro shared the history of Portugal with ease, adding interesting details at every stop. He knew each area inside and out and navigated like a true pro. And he had a great playlist for the drive! A+++ for Pedro. Truly a fantastic experience overall

Our tour guide, Fred, honestly made our trip to Lisbon that much more enjoyable. He was very knowledgeable on the history of Pena Palace and Portugal, had a great, positive attitude, and allowed us to feel like we were truly on holiday, being chauffeured around some of Lisbon’s most idyllic sites. Couldn’t recommend this tour enough! We never felt rushed or like we had “missed out” on seeing both Sintra and Cascais. Perfect if you’re on a short trip and can’t see each place separately - and cheaper too!

We had Ricardo as our guide for the Sintra, Pena Palace, Cascais, and Cabo da Roca trip, and he did an excellent job. He was extremely knowledgeable, shared lots of interesting information. What really stood out was how personable he was. He shared some of his own experiences and gave us insight into what life is like as a younger person living in Portugal, which made the tour feel much more personal. He was also constantly checking in with the group, especially given how hot it was, and making sure everyone was doing okay and had everything they needed. My only recommendation would be to have a small gallery of photos ready to quickly pull up when something comes up in conversation. For example, while driving to Palace, if he mentions a person, historical event, or something about the castle, having a relevant photo ready instead of looking it up. I’ve had other guides do this and really appreciated it. Overall, Ricardo was a fantastic guide. I’d definitely recommend his tour!

An excellent tour with an amazing guide! Ricardo was friendly helpful and spoke several languages. He had excellent recommendations for the places to see and restaurants to visit at each of the stops. He told us of the history of Portugal, details of the beautiful sights and places we visited in an interesting and informative manner. The transport was clean and comfortable, with only 8 people in the group, it was the perfect size. The stops were well arranged and planned to give the best opportunities to see the main sights with time to explore and ramble around. Pena was amazing but the cobbles were rough and the hills steep in places. Overall the fantastic tour with an excellent guide. Ask for Ricardo when you book.

Our guide Miguel provided an incredible insight into the romantic times in Portugal as we toured the palace in Sintra. He was very thoughtful in keeping everyone engaged and using their names when speaking with them throughout the day and even helped us skip the long lines at the Sintra Palace. The van was comfy, perfect for a fun escape from Lisbon. Cascais is a cute little village, a nice place to get coffee and walk around. Our guide was excellent. Joao (excuse my spelling) was a great driver, knew all about ever place we visited and gave us some details on other places we passed along the way. The van was comfortable. I would highly recommend people to wear good walking shoes as there is a steep walk to Pena Palace & the path can be slippery - especially when it rains. Cascais & Sintra are lovely to visit. Sintra was very busy but we had a nice lunch and walk around the town. My sister fell & hurt her ankle, our guide and the staff were very great & looked after her. Thank you.

He was extremely knowledgeable on the history of Portugal and the specific areas we visited. Mario gave us great tips at each location on how to maximize our experience (best views, great lunch spots, pastries to try, beach to dip our toes, etc). Pena Palace was outstanding and we really enjoyed time at this location. We loved hearing the details from Mario but also the time given to wander and explore on our own. João was an excellent tour guide. He knew exactly how to make the day enjoyable for everyone. He spoke not only about Lisbon's history and about Portugal's in general, but also about culture, music, language, food, and biological environment. Like that, he made sure to include interesting facts for everyone and he patiently answered all of our questions. The day was perfectly planned for people who prefer guided tours in small groups (there were only six of us) and who also want some time to explore on their own. My friend and I really liked that we had a long lunch break where we could recap the day, away from the group. João still helped us by sending us a list of recommendations of where to eat and giving own recommendations as well. It was our favorite day of our trip to Lisbon, so I would definitely recommend it!

Joao is a walking enciclopedia. He continuously amazed us with his in depth knowledge on Portugal 's history, geography and culture. He is a great ambassador of his country. He kept us entertained the entire journey with interesting facts not only about the sites we visited but also the sites we stopped by during our car journey. Due to knee problems, I need to avoid stairs. At the Pena Palace he kindly sorted the shuttle bus for me and found an elevator for me at the end of the tour which was extremely kind of him. The tour is not rushed . There was enough time for all sites. We had 2 hours to enjoy Sintra and we received very good recommendations for lunch and dessert. Joao is also a highly skilled driver. I felt safe the entire trip. I highly recommend the tour !

Great small group tour, Miguel Câmara Leme our guide did not stop telling us about the history of Portugal and the places we visited. He was very accommodating to our group needs and we met nice couple from Czech and family from Brazil. Who we shared history and culture with.

To be fair, I would have given it a 5 star, but we were unable to go to Pene Palace due to weather. Our guide Miguel was wonderful and rearranged our schedule to allow for more time Sintra, Cabo de Roca and Cascais. He was great at giving us information and history on all the stops. Preprava klimatizovaným minibusom bola príjemná a pohodlná, k dispozícii sme mali pitnú vodu. Boli sme malá skupina 7 ľudí. Z dôvodu hro by letných požiarov bol palác Pena neprístupný. Náhradný program bola návšteva Palacio de Queluz.

Es war eine wirklich tolle Tour. Wir hatten gedacht, dass wir eine größere Gruppe sind. Es war aber eine private Führung für maximal 5 Personen, die Familie bzw. Freunde sind. Unser Tourguide Miguel war wirklich super. Er ist sehr sympathisch und weiß alles über das Kloster und die anderen Monumente, da er dort aufgewachsen ist und auch eine persönliche Bindung zu der Kirche hat. Man merkt ihm die Liebe zu seinem Job an. Er spricht auch sehr deutliches Englisch, sodass man ihn auch gut versteht, wenn man kein perfektes Englisch kann. Wir mussten vor dem Kloster kurz mit Miguel anstehen, manchmal darf er aber auch die Schlange umgehen. Die Geschichtsinfos waren wirklich sehr interessant und detailreich. Das typische Gebäck Pastel de Belem war sehr lecker. Am Ende sind wir etwas zu der Burg und dem Entdeckerdenkmal gelaufen also sollte man gut zu Fuß sein. Miguel ist als Guide sehr zu empfehlen.

I was happy to see Cascais, Cabo da Roca, Sintra and Pena Palace without worrying about navigating from point A to B. There was enough time to explore each site, have a coffee, take lunch, and of course - beautiful photos. The timing to Pena Palace was perfectly timed, with entry at the latter end of the slot so there was zero line up. Definitely would have missed out on the history and stories behind these sites if I had explored alone. Thank you!

An excellent day trip and our guide, Miguel, was knowledgeable, passionate about Portugal and its history as well as a perfect gentleman. The free time at each stop was appreciated - Sintra is beautiful, Cabo de Roca stunning and Cascais was a cute seaside town.

Es war sehr schön, Simone Silva hat viel erklärt, v.a. zur Geschichte Portugals, von Lissabon, Cascais und Sintra, und sie hat sich nie aus der Ruhe bringen lassen, wenn z.B. Zufahrten gesperrt waren wegen eines Marathons usw. Die Größe der Gruppe mit 8 Personen ist optimal. Deshalb eindeutig "Beide Daumen hoch!"

What a great day! Our guide was so knowledgeable of the places and the history of them - he was happy to answer any questions and looked after the group very well throughout the day. As a solo traveller I got to sit at the front so all the couples would be together, for once a perk to being solo! Timings for each stop were great and really I could not fault anything about the experience at all. At one stage we walked past another tour guide who was telling his group things that were not true! If you are interested in history then I highly recommend this tour.

Juan was absolutely amazing. I had a great time exploring. He was very knowledgeable and provided lots of recommendations on how to spend the free time and where to grab lunch. Only feedback: consider a guided tour in Cascais/Sintra for like 15-20 min then allow for free time (free time was so nice but I had to chatGPT a bit). Overall 10/10, would do again, and would recommend!

For people who like to travel it’s a must see Sinatra, Pena palace and Cascais. It’s a day long trip from Lisbon but well worth the time and the money. Miguel our guide excellent by keeping us informed with for the entire trip. He also was able to provide answers to all our questions.

Excellent with a great knowledgeable guide

I don’t have enough positive things to say about our tour. Aside from the comfortable van the timing of the tour is perfect. You end up about 30 minutes ahead of the crowds and large tour buses. Recommendations for lunch and in Cascais were all great.

We were met on time in a comfortable vehicle, and learnt a huge amount about Portuguese history on both the journey and at each stop of our tour. The highlights for me were Sintra and Pena Palace. We loved the time in Cascais and Sintra. Our guide, Joao, was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour. His restaurant recommendations were bang-on. His tour Pena Palace was very informative and he made sure we were able to mostly stay out of the rain and get the shuttle if we needed it. All around, a great day!

Our tour guide Firat did a phenomenal job showing us the best parts of each city with kindness, excitement, and fun! He pointed out various restaurants and cafes to try and did a great job describing the history of the city and answering all of our questions. Sinatra and Palace My wife and I had a great guided tour. Our guide, Miguel Câmara Leme, was very pleasant and well versed on Portuguese history and the Sintra history and area. His English was fluent and his presentation clear and excellent. Miguel kept us and 3 other couple engaged throughout the day and our destinations as we traveled. His driving was excellent and very safe. Miguel was very considerate and conscientious of everyone on the tour, learning all our names immediately and engaging and involving us throught the experience.
The tour had us dropped conveniently at 2 different locations to explore with a pick up times for both that gave us enough time to get familiar with what each had to offer. The second stop was the furthest western part of Portugal and Europe. A fantastic view in an ecologically sensitive area.
We finished at the palace where Miguel made sure to point out every detail of importance to the building and history of the site.

An excellent day with an excellent guide. Miguel encouraged questions and answered them with solid historic depth.

Friends We had the best day with Miguel! He picked us up at our Airbnb right on time and we got on the road. He is so personable and a wealth of knowledge! We all loved Caicais! And Cabo Da Roca had beautiful views of the water. Weather was spectacular! We had been disappointed that the. National Tile Museum was closed during our visit, but Miguel taught us so much about tile! And his knowledge of the Pena Palace is second to none. He knows all of the ends and outs. It is a bit of a hike to get up to it and I forgot to bring water with me, but he took us to directly to the cafeteria for bottles of cold water and a few minutes of rest. He provided excellent recommendations for lunch and we spent close to 10 hours together, but it went by quickly and was like spending time with an old friend. Cannot recommend Miguel enough!

Solo John was fantastic. Our tour coincided with a marathon and futbol match that caused road closures, but we made every scheduled stop (even after initially being turned around at Cabo da Roca because the road was closed). John was very knowledgeable and accommodating.
